Prescott High School (PHS) is celebrating Career and Technology (CTE) month. CTE courses combine an academic foundation with real-world experience and employability skills, providing students a competitive advantage in the world. CTE provides students a path that leads to high school graduation, higher education, and 21st-century jobs in skilled trades, applied sciences, and technology.

High school students who participate in CTE classes are more engaged, perform better, and graduate at higher rates. PHS currently offers 8 CTE programs and will be adding 2 more for the 2021-2022 school year, pending board approval in the spring. The 8 programs are Digital Communications, Business Management, Automotive Technologies, Film/TV, Computer Network Technologies, Junior ROTC, Animation, and Sports Medicine. With 2 programs being added next year – Computer Science, and Fashion & Design. Many of these programs also offer dual enrollment college credit with Yavapai College. With the connection to Mountain Institute CTED (MI CTED), PHS students are able to take an additional 9 programs such as Aviation, Pre-Engineering, Welding, CNA, Medical Assisting, Automotive Collision Repair, Electrical Line Worker, and Automotive Technologies. Currently, we have over 300 students enrolled in these various courses.
